So, if you get the quest, completed the requirement, and before taking the reward, the favor is taken away.. Do you need to redo the quest?

Yes, yes it does. It's given by an Avatar of Dwayna that appears only in the American districts (I usually play in International...) when America has the favor [obviously I'm an American player].

Apparently a bunch of the quests later in the game are like this. I can't wait to set aside a rare night to play myself and my buds and do those quests and discover that we can't, because Korea/Europe has the favor, quit, wasting our nights.

I noticed this for the first time with the Druids quest in Druid's Overlook. I hadn't seen that quest before last night, but then I'd probably never been there when America has had the favor.

I kinda like it. It adds to the flavor of the game for me.

Actually the whole system is fine. As much as pve rely on pvp to have the favor of the gods, pvp rely on pve to get the skills necessary to be competitive ... it is very biased to say they made a poor system because pvp needs to be craddled like a baby.

As for the original ... I can't even believe you started this thread ... Guildwars is in it's birth ... Whats gonna happen when chapter 2 comes out? Are the pvper's gonna cry because they deleted all their pve characters and now have to do it aALL over again to reach a new area with new skills? Hope not ... thats what this new system is for. Also ... you dont have 4 character slots for nothing ... pvp and pve ...

it's all about perspective ... choose your own fate but be prepared to face the consequences ...

rpg is good for beginers training, upgrading your char , meet people ... pvp is good for teamwork training.

the best thing is really play all modes ...

walk to tombs and pvp with you r rpg char , thats the way to do it.IMO.

fight for favor if you need to go in fissure or underworld

one thing that i would love to see them add is 1 on 1 PvP... alot of people dont group with players that dont have TS or are in partys with players that die to fast and are left with 3 or 4 to fight against... sometimes this is fun sometimes this is frustrating... What i would like to di is if i feel like PvP'ing without the finding good groups to do this with (i could just go to a arena and fight against 1 player at a time) this would be fun for the Pve player also since most Pve players use henchies and prefer to play the game on there own. JUST A THOUGHT

not advocating the removal of PvP...if you like it play it....but atleast understand the terms you're using. Guild is merely an association of people working to achieve the same goals....this includes what you people have aptly termed "PUGs"
... except that the idea behind the game was that these associations of people working to acheive the same goal would do so by battling other associations.

I was mearly stressing that fact that the game was set up to also be a game where a group of people got together, set their skills to complement each other, and pitted their strategy against another group doing the same thing. From the post I replied to, I inferred that he wanted the game to be PvE only, which doesn't automatically assume your adventures will be in a guild(ed) party; I've only partied with people from my guild twice, and that was for the frst two missions. Every mission/quest after that I've partied with anyone willing to go adventuring with me.

I didn't have much time to reply (something came up) and tried to boil what I wanted to say in as few words as possible, so maybe this explaination can be considered my full opinion.

Guild wars isn't an MMORPG. Algren Kole, you come off as incredibly condescending and arrogent... try getting some therapy to prevent the flaming instinct in you. Wow i'm a hypocrit.

So we need the favour of the gods to access the new quests ? Well, thats us in Europe buggered then. Or maybe Europe only has favour when I'm at work or at the pub, hmmmmm...
